  • Under the proposed structure, a bank (or any 3rd party) may use ECAMS to submit Exchange Control applications on behalf of its customer via the internet. Thus BIs might want to do this on behalf of their valued customers, as part of additional service to them. Nonetheless, the customers themselves can apply directly to BNM via the ECAMS module.

    Other involvement of BIs in ECAMS may come from submission of specific reports to BNM, as currently required in a few circulars issued by Jabatan Pentadbiran Pertukaran Asing (JPPA).
 
  • Yes, EPS is essentially a back-end database to serve the data analysis needs of BNM.
 
  • BNM is in the midst of discussing the user and system requirements with the vendor. Upon finalisation, targetted for June, BNM will conduct a briefing for BIs on the complete data and system requirements.
 
  • ITEPS vendor has to study the feasibility of using those hardware for ITEPS purposes, in terms of compatibility.
 
  • ITEPS vendor will inform BIs on the minimum configuration required after they have studied the system requirements for EALIS and ITIS.
